Salma Mandi

Intro

I have always wanted to be in academia as I enjoy teaching. So, after completion of B.E from IIEST, Shibpur, I have done Master's from Jadavpur University. Then, I joined a private college as an Assistant Professor in the CSE department. Now, I am working as a Ph.D. student under Dr. Bivas Mitra in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.

Research Activity

My broad area of research is Affective Computing. I am currently working on Emotion Detection from Smartphone Interactions. It is one of the key tasks in affective computing to develop an emotionally intelligent computing system, which can infer human emotion and respond accordingly.
